Homelessness Awareness Day

WestAus Crisis coordinate the day each year with the assistance of many other agencies in the area and also with the help of the 2 local radio stations 97.3 Coast FM & 91.7 The Wave.

Homelessness Day has been running for the past 20 years in the Peel region, supported by most agencies in the area. This is a day were people requiring assistance due to homelessness can access services, referrals, haircuts, sleeping bags/swags, tents, blankets, food and other necessities. The day is also to raise awareness of the homelessness issue and lack of affordable housing in Australia.
